Lifestyle Pressure Washing and Cleaning (our sister company) is proud to have successfully completed a major cleaning contract issued by the City of Newcastle — revitalising footpaths across three key retail precincts: Mayfield, Beaumont Street, and Wallsend.
Over a two-month period, more than eight of our skilled team members worked overnight in rotating teams of three to minimise public disruption. In collaboration with Newcastle City Council, we secured all necessary permits for temporary footpath closures. This enabled us to perform the work safely and efficiently while maintaining public access where possible. Pedestrian and traffic management was a top priority — our crews implemented signage, barricades, and traffic control to ensure the safety of residents, shoppers, and drivers throughout the operation.
The project was a perfect fit for our capabilities. Using our custom-designed, trailer-mounted system equipped with dual Jetwave pressure pumps, we delivered powerful hot and cold water cleaning that can cover over 100 metres of footpath at a time. These commercial-grade machines allowed us to remove deep-seated grime, stains, and gum, returning heavily trafficked areas to a clean, welcoming standard.

Prior to works commencing, local businesses and residents received mailed notifications, and many have since shared positive feedback — praising the dramatic improvement in cleanliness and appearance.
This initiative, part of the City of Newcastle’s wider push to enhance public and retail spaces, showcases how targeted urban maintenance benefits the whole community. It’s also a testament to what can be achieved when councils partner with the right contractor.
